Your website suggests that you welcome suggestions on how to inform your work pertaining to EDI.

It is encouraging to see that you take advice from organisations centring the welfare of certain marginalised groups, though there is some concern with how effective those groups are at representing the experiences of their communities, and the accuracy of advice when considering peer reviewed evidence and the 2010 Equality Act.

With this in mind, a suggestion is that you diversity your profile and consider taking advice on other protected characteristics, such as:

▪️Religion. There are many groups who are able to advocate for a variety of religions.

▪️Sex. As nursing and midwifery is majority female, a working group of registrants to recognise the expertise of the profession would be commendable.

▪️Age. Fitness to practice cases suggests a theme of neglect in care homes.

▪️Pregnancy. The experience of registrants and the public during Covid has highlighted how rife this form of discrimination is.

Debate on how rights intersect with one another is essential. Evidence based, round table discussions from a range of communities to form policy would be a unique and commendable practice.
